Volunteers help with all aspects of New Hope’s ministry to children from infants–6th grade. Classroom opportunities exist for Shepherds (teachers) and assistants to teach and care for children. Other volunteers are needed to participate on prayer team, greet and assist families, disinfect classroom equipment and toys, sew bible costumes, prepare curriculum materials, work with the Children’s Director on various administrative tasks, coordinate volunteer schedule and assist with New Hope Kids’ Khoir, Kids’ Worship Team and special events. New Hope collects various items to donate to Christian Services. The items desired for specific months are published in the church bulletin. Volunteers can be part of this ministry by bringing requested items to the church, taking collected items to Christian Services’ location (monthly), or being part of a furniture transportation team that delivers furniture from Christian Services to a specific location (quarterly). There is also a great need for telephone volunteers who talk with call-in clients at the Christian Services office. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. Volunteers are needed to help in the following areas: Preparation of the communion elements on the Saturday before communion; Clean up after the Saturday evening service; Clean up after the Sunday morning services. The High School Ministry provides Bible training and relationship-building activities for high school students at New Hope. The group meets on Sunday evenings at 6:30 here at New Hope. Contact Rich Bruce @ Rich_Bruce@NTM.org or 517-282-5168
The hospitality ministry is an opportunity to serve on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings by setting up snacks (breads, cookies, coffee, juice and water). Food is already purchased. Lawn & Landscape Maintenance
Lawn Care - Consists of five or six people who mow the lawn on a rotational basis (usually weekly from April through October). The team also trims trees, around trees and keeps weeds under control around sidewalks. Larry Brown @ firstname.lastname@example.org or 517-655-3581
Landscape Maintenance—Help maintain the flower beds at New Hope throughout the spring, summer and fall. This ministry involves weeding, trimming and planting in the flower and shrubbery beds as needed. Interested volunteers will be contacted as to when and where work needs to be done. There will also be some church wide Clean-up and Work days in which volunteers can participate as their schedule allows. Three prayer gatherings are held each week:
- Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM in The Crossroads,
- Saturday evenings at 5:15 PM
- Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM in the Connection Café.

The Shepherding Ministry is intended to help elevate the value of “community” at New Hope by increasing the level of connectedness and communication among those who attend the church. Individuals and/or couples are trained as “Shepherds” and given the responsibility for connecting and periodically communicating with a group of 8-10 other New Hope families.
S.O.S.—Super Outstanding Servants

New Hope Ladies Events
Volunteers are needed for two major events (spring and fall). Men and women can help in the kitchen (serving food and cleaning up) and assist with other non-food-related responsibilities. Volunteer throughout the year by helping with mailings, overseeing food and set-up for the weekly studies, selling tickets and books for studies and events, and participating on a prayer team. Worship & Technology Ministry
Worship Team - Those gifted with abilities to help foster, facilitate and lead worship work with the Worship Director to use their God-given gifts in corporate worship. Members of the worship team do not serve every week, but according to their desired levels of participation. Commitment usually involves a two hour mid-week rehearsal and 7:30 AM arrival on scheduled Sundays.
Technical Ministry - Tech team members facilitate all the technical aspects of services and events at New Hope. Commitment usually involves one hour of assistance with mid-week rehearsal and 7:15 AM arrival on scheduled Sundays.
